Frequently Asked Questions

What is True Works?

True Works LLC is a Des Moines, Iowa based interior and exterior construction and remodeling company. Bathrooms are our best-known work, but we do full exteriors as well.

What services do you offer?

Interior — bathroom remodels, drywall, trim carpentry, flooring, tile, painting, and demolition.

Exterior — roofing, siding, window and door replacement, and decks.

Plus custom projects that do not fit either list. See the full services page.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

It depends on scope, but a typical bathroom remodel is finished within about seven working days. We will give you a realistic window with your estimate rather than an optimistic one.

How long have you been in business?

True Works has operated under its own name since 2021, and owner Alan has over eight consecutive years of experience in construction.

Do you pull permits?

Yes, where the work requires one. Permits and inspections exist to protect you, and skipping them causes problems when you sell.

What does a quote cost?

Nothing. The initial consultation and estimate are free.

What happens if the job changes partway through?

It becomes a change order. You see the added cost and approve it in writing before we do the work.

Do you warranty your work?

Every project carries a workmanship warranty. The exact term depends on the project and any additional material warranty — we spell it out before you sign.

What areas do you serve?

Des Moines and the surrounding metro. See Areas We Serve.
